Library Cards
1. Patrons must have a library card to use any library resources.
2. Cards are available at the current purchase rates. Rates are structured so that Atkinson Town Residents pay less than out-of-town residents because the only public funding the library receives is from residents of Atkinson Town. A rate schedule is available in the Library.
3. Adults (age 18 and over) must present a picture I.D. with a current address. It is the responsibility of patrons to keep the library informed of any changes in addresses and other contact information such as telephone numbers.
4. Children under the age of 18 must have parental permission to obtain a library card.
5. Children under the age of 8 must be under the supervision of an adult; either a parent or someone acting in the role of a parent. The child and the adult supervisor must both have library cards.
6. Return of over-due materials and payment of late fees is expected in a reasonable time. Failure to return materials or pay fees in a reasonable time will result in a suspension of privileges until returns and payments are brought up-to-date.
7. Suspension of a patron's privileges may be extended to all patrons residing at the same address.
8. Disruptive behavior will result in suspension of privileges.
9. Upon entering the library, the patron must place his/her card in the box provided and log in. When leaving, the patron reclaims his/her card and logs out. This procedure is so that we can keep an accurate record of library use.
Use of Computers
1. Computer use is limited to 30 minutes. If no one is waiting to use a computer, use may be extended by the library attendant but the attendant is not required to do so.
2. Downloading of web sites and programs to the computer is not allowed.
3. Viewing of pornographic material will result in immediate suspension of all library privileges and, if the patron is under the age of 18, notification of the responsible adult.
Fees
1. Printing: $.25 per page
2. Faxing: $1.00 per page if the number is long distance.
2. Faxing: $.50 per page if the number is local or toll-free.
3. Over due Books: $.10 per day per book. Books are loaned out for 3 weeks and a one-time extension of 2 weeks is available.
4. Over due Movies: $.25 per day per movie. A $1.00 deposit is required for each movie. Upon return of the movie, $.50 of the deposit will be returned. Movies are loaned out for a period of 3 days with no extensions. The deposit is forfeit if the movie is returned late.
